Re: 106.5 Toledo

94.5's changed quite a bit playlist-wise compared to 10 years ago. They used to play Elton John, the Doobie Brothers and Janis Joplin regularly. Not so much anymore. Oh totally, Marshall Tucker, Grand Funk (besides "We're an American Band"), Steely Dan, etc. Shit, I remember hearing Dylan's "Hurric...

Re: 106.5 Toledo

I think killing off the Zone for the Ticket again would be a mistake. This version of the Zone plays newer, heavier music that WIOT largely does not, and takes listeners off of IOT one end of the demographic while XKR at least in theory takes listeners off at the older end, although XKR's music is i...

Could 94.5 air the Lions and/or the Buckeyes? Classic rock is the music format that pairs best with sports PBP in medium to large markets IMHO
Definitely possible, they had the Browns games on 94.5 for a year or two sometime in the early 2010s

Re: 106.5 Toledo

They're not going to have 98.3 or 105.5 running ESPN Radio almost literally 24/7. Get real. They'll figure out somewhere to stick the Lions and Buckeyes (football, anyway) games.

Re: LMAO at the Lions

With Campbell they might have been able to find one of the few people in football who's actually an even bigger idiot than Patricia. During his time as Dolphins interim coach he had them doing fucking nutcracker drills, subsequently getting them banned by the NFL players' association if I remember r...

Re: WTOD still for Sale?

I had forgotten about this station, it's the only one left in The Trust isn't it? If I recall, 94.5 in Green Bay WI so acquired by EMF. The one in Jefferson Missouri(?) was just shut down all together and the one in Albany Georgia was sold to a local broadcaster, I believe The Format is AAA. My edu...

Re: Burger King old logo

I really liked BK's cheesy tots back a couple years ago. Del Taco also had great macaroni bites. Both are gone now. There's still Del Taco locations in Southgate, allen Park and Dearborn Heights per Google. They left Toledo a few years ago though, I miss them a lot. 49 cent tacos on Tuesdays in the...

Re: Burger King old logo

I did like the look of those old restaurants with the "Home Of The Whopper" signs. Like the McD's mansard roofs or the H*** 10-gallon hat arby's signs, they were distinctive. Now every fast food joint looks like a fucking bank branch.

Re: Burger King old logo

Fast food options in this part of the country flat out suck. I am extremely jealous of the great state of Texas, which has Whataburger and Taco Cabana. Burger King was awesome until the early/mid 90's. Decent for another 5 to 10 years after that. The turning point was a horrendous new recipe for th...

Re: Melissa V on WTVG

Ha, she does kind of have arms like Lex Luger.

But I'd still rather watch 13 than 11. I saw 11 just hired Jeff Smith, boy can't wait for Hairpiece and Spray Tan together. Miraculously now his broadcasts with Sashem Brey will seem NOT vapid.

Re: Melissa V on WTVG

Or maybe it's just age? She's been around for awhile. It's nice to see she's still going after the heart condition she had a few years back (during which WTOL quietly fired her). Besides, even if she had work done she's not even the fakest-looking Melissa in Toledo news. Mel andrews on 11 could stan...

I always thought Smog, Potholes, SR-22s, GEDs, and White Flight would have been a better name for the hockey team than "Walleye", guess we can also add your suggestion to the list

Re: Lions are returning to 97.1 The Ticket

The yenta allegedly responsible for the move to WJR in the first place was fired by the Lions this past January. I have no idea if that decision contributed to her dismissal. Was that the same PR woman who called the Allen Park police on Jeff Moss back in the day because a photoshop of William Clay...
