Re: 2019 Detroit Tigers

It would be shocking if the Tigers lose less than 100 games this year. 110 is not out of the realm of possibility. This team is more pathetic by the week. Where are these great prospects they keep talking about? When will they finally realize Ryan Carpenter is horrific and cut bait? Baltimore only h...

Bell is cheap. How many jocks does 89X have? CKWW is run out of a broom closet. I think even CKLW is downsizing.

If WDTK really wanted to be something, they would swap formats with WLQV. I don’t see it happening.

Is he syndicated?
I doubt it. It’s called Geraldo in Cleveland and the number given is WTAM’s. All of the callers are from the Cleveland area.

Why only one hour though? Is that all he wants to do, or is the station forced to carry Glenn Beck?

Re: Steak and Shake gets shut down in Toledo

The company is not doing well. Many across the country are closing, even in their home base of Indianapolis. Stories like this certainly won’t help.

Geraldo on WTAM

Visiting Cleveland right now and heard Geraldo’s show on WTAM. It’s only an hour from 9-10AM. What’s the point? None of the topics are local to Cleveland. Does he do the show there or fed from New York?

1130 or 1270 will not switch unless the stations are sold.

The only other station even trying talk is 910, and that’s barely.

Re: 106.5 Toledo

98.3 might as well focus on Toledo again, if it is ever sold. Since the tower move, the signal isn’t nearly as good in Monroe itself or points north. That’s why they changed the COL to Luna Pier.

I don’t think Savage is on WJR. If he is it must be tape delay fairly late.

I don’t recall if he is on WLBY Ann Arbor.

Re: Old county weather maps

Toledo still includes Monroe and Hillsdale Counties.

I think the Detroit stations used to show Tuscola as well.

I keep losing track of what market Hancock County (Findlay) is in- Toledo or Lima.

Re: Big changes in just released June ratings survey; WJR hits all-time record low

WDTK used to subscribe and drew a 0.1 or 0.2. Their flea powered translator may be the reason the numbers were that high. Does the station even have any sort of weekday local show? I haven’t listened in a few years.

Hugh Hewitt is as boring as Bill Bennett was. Horrible choice for AM Drive.

Re: Big changes in just released June ratings survey; WJR hits all-time record low

Another problem with AM is the radios in some cars just aren’t very good these days. My 2014 model has constant interference when the engine or electrical system is running, especially on weaker signals (not so much WJR). I know there is a way to fix this, but most mechanics don’t seem to know how, ...

At least WFDF’s 50000 watts draw a rating, unlike WDFN!

WDRQ is slowly ticking upward. I don’t listen to country music: anything different going on there?

Re: Why is Sanilac part of the Detroit DMA?

I am surprised Channel 46 in Port Huron was never built. It’s part of the Detroit market, so there could be cable coverage for a large area (probably not Washtenaw). I would think the tower would be as close to Detroit as physically possible, so it wouldn’t help the Thumb with TV reception very much...

Re: Why is Sanilac part of the Detroit DMA?

I believe Bad Axe had one or two commercial TV allotments in the analog era. I know Port Huron had one. Obviously, they were never built.
