Re: Detroit Public TV moving, current home sold
They moved to an area with a population boom at the time- a stone’s throw from Lyon Township (Napier is the boundary). It’s the same as when 2 and 7 moved to Southfield in the 50s. I was always under the impression that 2 &7 (and the MSP Northville post) are where they are at because of a ridge of ...

Re: Billy Joel cut by news
I saw that. I wasn't watching the concert, but flipped to get the news and the concert was still playing, then they chopped it off and went to news. I was very surprised, especially since CBS has been widely promoting this concert for a while. I also thought it was supposed to be a live event, but l...

Re: The majority of Trump supporters are being financially harmed
Would you rather I start creating as many pro-Trump posts in here as Matt creates anti-Trump posts? Honestly I probably won't have much to say until we get closer to the election, but you better believe that when he wins, I'll be rubbing all your noses in it. And if he loses? And if he (GOD FORBID!...

.... I've left my house, driven to the airport(DTW), flown, and driven a rental car to the west side of Minneapolis in 3:30 flat. Before or after "TSA"?? It's appx a two hour flight. Re: Supreme Court Hits One Out Of The Park
The fact that it actually had to make it to the SCOTUS should concern all of us.
and (from the article) re; "because local governments tend to exhaust their property tax revenues on ongoing expenses," ... perhaps the local governments need to work on the "ongoing expense" so this is not an issue!

Re: Trump Punts On Abortion
I agree gas is about the same as pre-covid but power bills have gotten higher since covid. How much of that is related to grid improvements? I suspect some of it. In fact the DTE hikes specifically have something to do with such work. There’s a push to put the lines underground for example. Sure, D...

Re: Trump Punts On Abortion
Energy affordable? Power companies nationwide have raised customer bills and gas prices are above 3.55 a gallon most everywhere. What drugs are you on? And isn't DTE floating yet another H*** increase (nearly a half BILLION dollars for just their customers!) this year on top of their increase last ...

Re: Sleuthing Digital TV Signal Problems
Question.... If Comcast gets local feeds via fiber, why the delay I've seen up to 30 sec. between OTA and cable Hi-def? There is actually more delay in the fiber than getting the signal off air (VP+.68 vs maybe .98+), but not anywhere near enough to cause a 30 second delay. Not sure what's causing ...

Re: Sleuthing Digital TV Signal Problems
Comcast (Xfinity) picks up most of the local broadcasters via fiber rather then off-air. They do it for a couple reasons. One to eliminate any off-air interference (even temporary) from local noise sources. The other is to allow a different set of commercials to be inserted. Much of that processing ...

Re: "MAY-Cuhm" ?? (Channel 62 critique)
C'mon, channel 62! How is it that one of your MMJs does not know how to properly pronounce the name of the third most populous county in your viewing area? Just saw a story about the MI House District 13 race. The MMJ butchered the name of Macomb County at least twice. I saw that live and was quite...

Re: Solar Eclipse April 8th
I was surprised at how much people were charging -or trying to charge- just for a parking spot. When you could park for free anywhere to see pretty much straight up. Was also surprised to see small groups of people going way out in the middle of a field and setting up chairs and blankets to observe ...
