Re: Rock And Roll Is DEAD!!
I disagree. Most shows I have seen lately have been sold out. Cover bands for classic rock? Nope... Check out Royal Oak and the other theaters in Detroit are, they are doing well. I've been to maybe 300 shows at places like Royal Oak. Rock is DEAD, nobody is booking shows. Take a look at who is boo...

Re: Ginger Baker dies at 80
Ginger Baker was a complete asshole. I have seen both Clapton and Bruce from very close up but have AVOIDED Baker because I didn't want to give him my money. Ginger really was quite good but too much of a creep. Calling Ginger the greatest is silly, there are just too many people.

Re: Rock And Roll Is DEAD!!
Oh yeah, since the start of boy bands like N*Sync & Backstreet Boys in 1997!! Not really. That's pop music, pop has been around longer than Rock. Rock is still around, but commercial radio doesn't embrace much of it, because the most interesting stuff is being done by independent artists. The inces...

Re: Your best ever car radio?
By the way...the sub from the car is now in the house. I built a custom enclosure for it and it's a part of my PC audio system now. The FET-500 is pushing around 800 watts into it. The guy on Ebay who lost the auction for that speaker was somebody . What would Dr. Bruce have done with it? https://ww...

Re: Your best ever car radio?
YOu say all this without hearing.....Must be great to know it all without actually sitting in the vehicle. There are 12 and 18 speakers systems out there too. Tell us how they sound without ever having heard them. Yep...there are things that physics allow you to predict. THIS is my Guru, Richard Cl...

Re: Your best ever car radio?
Yikes? Built in sub woofer, 10 speakers, great separation and sound....It rocks! Ten speakers? That's a comb filter disaster. Only auto manufacturers do that. Yes...yikes, the idea is to do it with as few drivers as possible: physical arrival time issues cannot be fixed completely with DSP. Ten spe...

Re: Your best ever car radio?
Yep, better stay where you are. Serious... It's you guys. (I'm the guy in marpat that you'll never see, the guy way off the trail, who's stealing orchids.) They had no real idea where they were moving to, and still think I'm joking about their local lake effect snow. Bob was chased off his back por...

Re: Your best ever car radio?
He did, I was down at his shop last week. The 1954 VW Barndoor Panel was in the garage. Clark at VWoA still has Bob work on the fleet... The Telefunken van? Yep, and the Orange 21 is in his garage too. Watch out for the bears.... The Ellis' are "flatland people" as I like to call them and this is a...

Re: Your best ever car radio?
A 59 used Sapphire radios as stock, not Blaupunkt. They were a popular aftermath option. Those guys are the VW experts... I kinda hate them and their inability to control camber but the radios were neato. The restos for VW of America were all done at my sister's house. What era radios? Sapphire or ...

Radio has more than it's share of Luddite morons; this is to be expected.

Re: How do you measure success?
It's a simple question. Turkeytop seems to understand the concept, others too. For me it's having a meaningful relationship with my lovely wife, happy independent educated children, and enough free time to smell the roses and do good in this world. What does a successful life look like for you? Bea...
