Re: Coronavirus Playlist

Back in the 60s, kids used to sing this parody of the theme song from the Branded TV show:

Stranded—stranded on a toilet bowl,
What do you do when you're stranded,
And you can't find a roll?

Re: Ann Marie LaFlamme out at Ch 7

I see she's been doing traffic lately, and doing pretty well. I think she's better at that role than Ann Marie was. I think Ali Hoxie is doing a fine job. She does need to loosen up a little bit though. She knows the difference between "alternative" and "alternate," unlike most traffic reporters.

Re: Essential Radio and TV Stations

It says "some workers"—should we expect sports talk shows and music stations to stay on the air? What? and go without the "The Wake Up Breakfast Morning Zoo-o-rama with Fartie Bob, Chi-Chi and Shaky Sally"? My God man, hasn't this country been put through enough heartbreak already? It would be quit...

Essential Radio and TV Stations

Interesting part of today's stay-at-home order: "For purposes of this order, critical infrastructure workers are those workers described by the Director of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in his guidance of March 19, 2020 on the COVID-19 response (available here). Such work...

I walked into CVS this morning to shop for the lock down. On the store radio, Hall and Oates were singing, "Private eyes, they're watching you, they see your every move..."

Re: FSD technicians told to work at Meijer

The entire sports economy should be concerned at how well eSports are being received by viewers. If I were TV, think how much cheaper it would be to develop virtual leagues rather than pay for real sports licensing. The trend toward using technology to make every decision in baseball (by managers, ...

Re: The media wants you to panic

This is journalistic malpractice. 12 of the top 14 stories on the Detroit News homepage are coronavirus. 20 of 21 on the Detroit Free Press’ homepage are coronavirus. The media says things like “we didn’t do this,” #factsoverfear, “all we said was to wash your hands.” 100% false. It wants you to fe...

Need some Beatles tunes here:

Dr. Robert
Nowhere Man
You could alternate Yesterday and Tomorrow Never Knows.

And of course, Polythene Pam, "dressed in her polythene bag."

Re: Media doing social separation

This morning, Ch 7 had the anchors do the morning news from separate sides of the studio. Now, Fox 2 is doing the same thing. I get taking precautions due to coronavirus, but this is going too damn far. How about washing your damn hands and covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing. This is jus...
