Re: WPON WCXI Updates - 2020

For better or for worse, the FCC granted the license renewals for both WPON and WCXI on 9/15. Full term too--expiring on 10/1/2028.

Re: WLDR Renewal Applications

For better or for worse, the FCC did grant the WLDR renewal yesterday (9/16). As one would expect, it's for the full term until 10/1/2028.

Re: Any News On New WLLA OTA Signals?

Good news! They're getting closer.... WLLA has been posting on their Facebook page photos and messages about their permanent antenna installation being underway, having started on Sunday (Sept. 13). They note that there will be occasional outages and reduced power from the interim/auxiliary equipmen...

Kent County towers ... Re: Are Section 73.239 and Section 73.635 Being Enforced?

Hi MWMetalhead, Kent County has been getting other new, noticeable towers over the last couple of years—compliments of Kent County taxes & 911 phone fees. November’s addition went up quickly in Alto. Take a look south off I-96 as you pass the M-50 exit (SW quadrant) and you’ll see the 400+ footer, o...

NOPE ! Re: Are Section 73.239 and Section 73.635 Being Enforced?

Hi CK-722 and All, I saw this FCC announcement about both Sections 73.239 and 73.635 being eliminated as of this week Tuesday (8/4/2020), recalled this thread, and realized the final answer is now: NOPE! “...removing outdated and unnecessary requirements.” https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/FCC...

WTOM Cheboygan Re: antenna lift

Perhaps someone will know of newer information, but.... The most recent FCC filings for WTOM-TV Cheboygan notes in at least 3 places, “Helicopter pick scheduled for 8/9/20.” I’m recalling perceiving or reading in other filings or places that the old analog RF4 antenna will come down, with the new Di...

WEMP! Re: DX in reverse?

Hi ADD in TC, I can’t speak to how streams make it into the TuneIn app, as I’ve always declined to pursue installing it whenever a station’s link launches into the Apple App Store on me. There’s probably insight available from Wikipedia or some other Googled-up site. Your hypothesis about it being s...

Re: Grand Rapids traffic

Hi All, I'm going to guess that Kevin Richards just had a week of vacation. I'm pretty certain I heard him on WOOD AM/FM some or all the week before (7/13-17). Too funny I had to read here what the lady's voice was identifying as! Somehow I wasn't clearly hearing Asphalt, as it had been sounding mor...

Re: TV RF Channel Changes

Well it has changed...... WMNN switched from RF 14 to RF 17 and looks quite good. Stronger signal. Hi makitaman, Thanks again for your posts, and updating Trip at Rabbitears. The station's own site does at least have a posting about needing to re-scan on or after 7/17: http://www.minews26.com/conte...

Re: WOTV Post Repack

I suspect WOTV/Nexstar will not need the full six months. I am hopeful WOTV will be on its permanent facilities by the end of June. ... Hey MWmetalhead, Jason Kragt, and All, MW's prediction was very close regarding when WOTV would be using a new top-mounted antenna. Depending on any paperwork dela...

Re: I am easily amused...

Better yet, and not to make too much fun of a typo, but notice that the actual posting is titled: Portest Should be Protest. Perhaps it's in "pour taste" to point out that Protest is spelled wrong? Sorry if it is. And please forgive my punchiness--I found out yesterday that I'm going to be furloughe...

Re: Yes! Re: Any News On New WLLA OTA Signals?

Out of curiosity, what airs on 64.2? MeTV For further insight to MWmetalhead and others: The MeTV on 64.2 is broadcast in 720p. It's been that way since late July last year (2019). Hogan's Heroes during the 10pm hour each weeknight looks amazing--better than when we were kids! It was mentioned to m...

Re: Any News On New WLLA OTA Signals?

As of now (Thurs. 5/28 around 6:15pm), the announced sub-channel changes seem to be in place:

64-3 as Heroes & Icons TV...with an episode of Monk on.

64-4 as Decades, per the logo bug. I'm unsure of the black and white content.

64-5 as retrotv, per its logo bug.

Enjoy! ~~ Statmanmi

Yes! Re: Any News On New WLLA OTA Signals?

I came here to say this too Trophyhead! I also saw the slide around Midnight on 64.3 & 64.4, as well as the move of RetroTV to 64.5. Per the station’s Facebook post, they intend on having these diginets’ content streaming by June 1st: https://www.facebook.com/385602832544/posts/10157726394452545/ “W...
