Re: WLAV Tower Relocation - new update 7/29

As acknowledged in the paperwork filed, WLAV cannot broadcast at full power until puny little WLAW moves. Personally, I'd just turn in the WLAW license, or in the alternative, file an STA to broadcast at reduced power from the current WLAW site. Hi All, I've become such a geek, I tend to check on t...

Re: Three CBS-Owned CW Stations Add Nightly News

How PITIFUL is it that production is being outsourced to friggin' Dallas?!?! First Comerica Bank relocates their headquarters to Dallas, and now this is going to be Dallas-based! ** ** In March 2007, Comerica Bank announced their corporate headquarters would be moved to Dallas. My quick skim of the...

Re: FCC repack -- WLAJ/WLNS on RF14

I'm just under 60 miles WNW from the Okemos tower and have been receiving the new signal quite consistently. I have a ClearStream 4 on my roof in extreme eastern Kent county, and the radiowaves are strong enough for sidelobe reception. Whenever I've checked, it's been actual programming, not just a ...

Re: WILX new subchannels

Here's their own posting about this topic: https://www.wilx.com/content/news/WILX-adds-Circle-and-Ion-Television-to-line-up-566436011.html Piquing my interest slightly is the move of Antenna TV to .5. Do they have cable coverage of the current .3? (I get them only OTA, in eastern Kent county, so no ...

Re: WXII Ch. 12 analog -- Approved OTA plan

Looks like they are now broadcasting in 480p hd digital on cable for Mi TV 12. Feeds a little choppy and so is news net(formerly minews 26) but the quality is really good now compared to Its Analog feed. I wonder if WXII flash-cut to digital broadcasting Hey ftballfan and All, Freelancer's FCC file...

Re: CBET TV Channel 9--tower work

Hi All, Someone posting over in the Detroit thread of AVSForum provided a link this weekend to the CBC's article regarding their ongoing tower work that would be affecting FM and TV channel 9 signal strength while underway: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/cbc-windsor-service-interruptions-1.5...

Re: WZPX (ION) files app to move closer to Grand Rapids

The Special Temporary Authority specs for WZPX utilize a directional signal with 85 kW maximum ERP from 241 meters' height above average terrain (HAAT). https://www.fccinfo.com/CMDProEngine.php?sCurrentService=TV&tabSearchType=Appl&sAppIDNumber=25076ff36d896d80016d986ab214523d The STA pattern is di...

Re: Low power TVs in Tri-Cities

WFKB is on RF 19 with PSIP 38. WLLD (still listed as W25ET-D on the FCC website) is on RF 25, but it will have to pick up a different PSIP to eliminate confusion with WEYI (which is on RF 18). Both of these broadcast from the Saginaw area. The religious on 24 is the 3ABN digital translator near Mid...

Re: The untold story of TV-43

- Why was a tower site in far NW Eaton County chosen as opposed to one of the existing TX sites along the Allegan/Barry border? Scott Fybush’s visit report recorded that the location was intentional to cover both the Lansing & West Michigan DMAs, per Dick Castanie, chief engineer of WZPX: https://ww...

Re: LAV STA/application status

Word from the station is that the signal came into use from the Allendale site at 7pm on July 16th. Until the Nash move occurs on 97.5, LAV is running their licensed 7.2kw. They hope to be at full power - 43kw - by January, but don't seem to have high hopes for that at this time. A WLAW (Nash count...

WOTV and WZPX have transitioned frequencies

Well, it's done. Without undermining my productivity too much, I kept connected to my TabloTV while at work today. I managed to catch both these full-power/strength station frequency changes. (Albeit onto their interim arrangements.) WOTV 41.x (ABC/etc.) went right at Noon, off RF20 and on RF17. WZP...

Re: WZPX (ION) files app to move closer to Grand Rapids

Those in fringe reception of WOTV ABC 41.x signal might lose both WOTV and WZPX today, as both have filed and been granted Construction Permit extensions and STAs, citing that their permanent equipment (now at the same tower site) isn't all set yet. Thus, both are cutting over today with interim ant...

Re: Can You Tell Me Before Friday Night...Spartans

Not to throw gasoline on the fire, but rather to offer the factual truth: My attempts to tune in Spartan football on the car radio in Kent County Saturday afternoon (10/12) brought to light that the WMU broadcast on 101.3 had to conclude before the transition to the Spartan coverage. Thus, the first...

Re: Can You Tell Me Before Friday Night...

Spot on handbanana! My Spartan work buddy couldn’t recall if at least one or two hoops games were off 107.3 FM & only on AM before Cumulus got pressed hard from East Lansing and/or Tieman’s group to honor the expectation of having the full coverage area that 107.3 affords. I’ll dare to guess that Ti...
