Re: Your favorite Detroit airchecks from back in the day
A station that used to boom in at night into the motorcity from the windy city I listened to Michigan native John Landecker on WLS 890 . John at that time had 5 million listeners across a large portion of the US and Canada every evening. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kW_0RIcshz0&t=803s Another on...

It's hard to believe both of those idiots are gone. And in such short order, one after the other. I had become so weary of both of them, I had been seriously considering deleting my own account. Now, I think I might hang around for a while longer. Please do stay...I really enjoy reading your posts.

Not seeing the contract, I'm guessing there is a clause about not performing illegal activity on Company property. By violating the providential law regarding 14-day quarantine when she came into work, she did so illegally and is subject to being fired.

Not local from Detroit, but from Chicago, Larry Lujack from WLS was heard in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Burger Chef's sign (what's left of it) is still standing in St. Johns:

If going to a music format, I hope they will return to AM stereo. When they were oldies, I could get them in well in the St. Johns area in full stereo.BayCityJohn2337 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 6:57 pmClassic Country is going to be the new format according to insiders. Ha!

Re: 1660 Kalamazoo "The Fan" flips to Urban Format
I listened to WQLR 1660 briefly 3am Saturday as I was traveling through Kalamazoo. The station had a really good stereo sound with good separation. I also tuned in the translator on 95.5 for comparison. Separation was much better on 1660 and bass was deeper on the 95.5. It's too bad the car stereo c...

Re: Geocaching
My idea of geocaching is hunting for radio station towers. I get the coordinates from https://fccinfo.com/ and the format is in degrees, minutes (no decimal), and seconds. I have used various models of Garmins and they all are/were switchable between both formats mentioned. If you want to keep low-b...

I never had the 45 rpm version, but did have the album it was on. I listened to the album a few times at 16 rpm.
I wonder if there are any hidden messages when playing it backwards.

Re: 1660 Kalamazoo "The Fan" flips to Urban Format
Glad to hear 1660 has switched to music since they are in stereo. When I'm in the area I tune them in...the sports talk is mono, while their local commercials sounded great! I'll be passing through Saturday morning and will definitely be listening.

I have mentioned this before quite a while ago...I get SXM year round for free. I don't get all of the channels, just the ones that are unlocked at certain times throughout the year.
