Re: MSNBC meltdown

Recently I have been hooked on watching Tom Snyder clips on YouTube. He truly might be my favorite broadcaster of all time.

Re: Will WJR Soon Drop Talk For All News?

You are aware that Mr. Limbaugh has stage 4 lung cancer, right? Once his personal health forces him to retire, I agree that scores of conservative talk stations will have a very sizable ratings hole to fill. If frequent guest host Mark Steyn were to eventually take over Rush’s show, I think he coul...

I enjoy Thursdays and Fridays when it's Deena , Lee and Ryan. The 3 of them seem to gel well and there's more humor involved .
Deena is the straw that stirs the drink.
Totally agree. It’s only watchable when it’s the Deena Show.

Re: Jeopardy

Ken did a great job as host last night. He was very calm and collected, and did a great job during the contestant interviews. He talks slightly faster than Alex, but I didn't mind it at all. I agree, I thought he did quite well for his first time out the gate. I felt, at times, it sounded like he w...

Top annoyance, the constant COVID-19 radio commercials with that gloom and doom woman's voice. Seconds into the ads I leave.

WDIV seems to be airing a greatly out-of-sequence Jeopardy this evening (Dec 1).
Yes! I noticed that too.

In fact, I was just wrapping up my strongly worded complaint to WDIV. I wonder if they flip-flopped the daytime repeat that they rarely even air, and the evening version.

Re: Jamie Edmonds needs to be bumped to WDIV's full time sports anchor

Jamie Edmonds is great with sports. Her reporting is professional and she knows what she's talking about. I love watching her do sports reports. It might be time Bernie hang it up. He doesn't report anything. His "we've got highlights" is so beyond stale. Weekend at Bernie's and whatever filler vid...

Re: Local 4 expands to 1 PM

Perhaps nobody wanted to buy infomercial time in the 12:30-1:00 PM slot. At my old worksite a few years ago, many of us would watch Jeopardy! in the 12:30 slot. Sometime later, WDIV would sell a half-hour infomercial slot instead of Jeopardy! replays, knowing that viewers would be lazy enough to ju...

What's not to like about that Radio Guide? Ernie and Paul on it and it lists all the Stereo AM stations as well (about a dozen, including the Tiger games on WJR)

Re: Media Coverage of Local Sports Protests

Nobody can walk away from the NFL no matter how hard we try especially if we have fantasy leagues with friends and coworkers. I’ve been running a fantasy league for over 10 years. We took a vote yesterday, I was shocked. 8-4 in favor of skipping this season. A couple people didn’t want to play due ...

And with no college football, it's not likely to get better any time soon.
Well, no Big 10 football. Central Arkansas is already 1-0 this season with its big victory over Austin Peay yesterday.

Re: "30 Rock: A one-time special"

I'm a fan of 30 Rock and have the set on DVD. I'm not understanding why NBC affiliates are refusing to air the special. The big owners thought since this special was to promote Peacock, it was going to cut into their profits. As the entire "commercial free" hour was designed to promote Peacock, the...

Re: Palace explodes

The airport is where it's at and the only competition is Toledo and Flint. The Palace was easily accessible to maybe 10% of the metro Detroit population and had the newer LCA, centrally located, competing for shows, events and paying spectators. Sadly looks like LCA will be shuttered for a while. T...

Re: The Palace

Getting out of The Palace wasn't bad at all if you knew (a) where to park in the parking lot (northeast portion was best; southwest portion was worst) and (b) were familiar with the secondary roads in the area. Multiple times, I exited via Harmon Rd., and once I reached Giddings Rd to make a left t...
