As the hum continues, the sound reminds me of my stereo system in the 1970's. If the turntable wasn't grounded, a hum occurred. Perhaps something at CKWW isn't grounded?

"Old School" Saturdays on WGPR-FM was a lot of fun roughly 20 years ago.

WXZY-AM (the current day WXYT-AM) was at the Maccabees Building prior to WDET. I believe WDET used the same facilities WXYZ-AM had. Later on WDTR-FM (now WRCJ-FM) used the Maccabees Building. I don't know if any radio broadcasters currently use the Maccabees location, as Wikipedia states WRCJ's faci...

Bobbert's posting of "Match Game '24" had a lot of truth in that I believe Ron's ultimate goal was to be the center of attention around a group of sports celebrities. I recall Mr. Cameron's stated ideal was to have a restaurant/bar featuring his radio show replete with interviewee(s) center stage.

I recall that after LaPointe's 1979 column was printed, Ron came into the store (Kent Drugs) and was not happy. Mr. Cameron intimated that he and Mr. LaPointe were "through." Evidently they reconciled.

If we can find a place with a CD player, I can make CD's of past shows and we can hear them.

FYI: I was able to record the show with a 60 second break to start the AA and Revolving Door Show which continued the tribute.
