Re: TV RF Channel Changes

Correct. Antenna was nearly 1400 feet above average terrain, too! They were far & away the strongest VHF signal in the Ludington area. Viewers with an outdoor antenna as far south as northern Muskegon County and maybe even far northern Kent County could receive the station regularly. Reception wasn...

What's going on at Doppler 9&10 Weather?? Every time I turn it on there seems to be a new face in the weather department. That bad of a place to work for they can't keep regulars??
If Dunaway is still in charge, probably.

Former 2020 host Hugh Downs died at the age of 99. (not to be insensitive but I didn't know he was still alive.)
I don't think anyone knew he was still alive. I thought he died shortly after that Today 60th anniversary thing that he was on.

Re: WWMT is building a new studio and control room

Exactly! Seems to me when a station airs more programming than newscasts its pointless to call the station 9&10 News. Network TV does have news, but not enough where they should be labeled newschannel or something like that. Agreed. I always thought continuously referring to WOOD-TV as "24 Hour New...

Hold on.... 94.5 WJZQ? When was that sold?
WJZQ is still on 92.9. The 94.5 is WYPV, and was WLJZ for years
Geez...getting calls mixed up...

I really hate how the local stations have to include "news" into their name. IMO, News 3 sounds better than Newschanel 3.
Like "9&10 News" in Traverse City/Cadillac. Absolutely ridiculous.

Most news outlets save their article for posterity and historical reasons. The best they could do is include an update.
Eh, with archive.org, often that stuff is almost indefinitely available.

Re: One big mistake or a series of mistakes? What was it?

Sinclair Broadcast Group needs to be broken up by the FCC. 25-66 forced its stations to run politically slanted news stories. It forces its anchors to read corporate mandated promos. It "is" in the sense of all these subsidiaries that are "independent" and "run through an LMA." It's bullshit, and e...

ISS Coverage disappointment

What the hell? We're talking about a historical moment, and no coverage from local news media??
