Hard to Handle: Correct: I have got some good old lovin' And I got some more in store ... Pretty little thing, let me light your candle 'Cause mama I'm sure hard to handle now, yessir'am How I heard it: I have got some good old lovin' And I got some Rolling Stone ... Re: Surprising programming change upcoming to WGN America; 3 hour national newscast to debut

I think since they stopped being a superstation and dropped all Chicago news and sports, their ratings are down. I'm not sure if adding a 3-hour newscast will help the ratings or not. It might be interesting to watch, though. One thing I don't get is that while there is speculation that WGN America...

Re: Iheart Disloctation

Ok, can WNCI use the "Chillicothe's #1 hit music channel?" To me, there is no logic. And it's not number 1. The only thing is that Chillicothe is a small town south of Columbus that is part of the larger city's radio market, while Akron is a large city with its own radio market that happens to be i...

Re: Three CBS-Owned CW Stations Add Nightly News

The newscasts will be produced at another CBS-owned station, which will add national news, sports and weather, then sent back to the station where it will air. In Detroit's case, it will be produced at another CBS-owned station that has a full news department. WKBD Detroit will debut 10 p.m. news J...

Re: Misheard Song Lyrics

No one brought up Junior Walker's "Shotgun".

The right lyrics:

Shotgun
Shoot 'em 'fore he run now
Do the jerk baby
Do the jerk now

I heard it as:

Shotgun
Sugar coated rundown
Do the Jack Benny
Do the turndown

I like my version better.

Re: Evolution of Cable TV Channels.

Surprised no one brought up A&E -- back in the day, it was arts and cultural programming. These days, it's mainly crime shows such as "The First 48" and "Live PD".

Re: Evolution of Cable TV Channels.

Another horrid change was Bravo. In the U.S., it was once home to sophisticated arts and culture programming and we watched it almost daily. Now, nothing but lowest common denominator horse manure. We do see the same sort of programming the channel once had when we visit Canada. There's a channel t...

The names let go by iFart aren't exactly household names or long term market veterans.
But they're still people trying to earn a living in a corporate industry where live talent and local people are becoming more and more obsolete.

"dislocation"... who's the "proud" PR asshat that came up with that???
It looked more like a mass "amputation" to me.

In Cleveland word is all but one gone from CHR WAKS/CLE.
Chuck.... did something happen that the WAKS COL is no longer Akron?
As far as I know, they're still licensed to Akron, but they don't act like an Akron station (they're "Cleveland's #1 Hit Music Station").

Radio ceases to be great when the corporate suits treat their stations like McDonald's.

Re: WADL is removing Cozi Jan 1

I was watching WADL 38.4, and a locally inserted (emphasis on locally) screen crawl stated the following, or at least something similar "COZI TV WILL NO LONGER BE BROADCAST ON THIS CHANNEL STARTING JAN 1, 2020. FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT COZI TV DIRECTLY." Shitty move, WADL. Shitty fuckin...

Re: Difficult To Watch BBC Programmes In America

Boris announced last week a new policy whereby, failure to pay a license will no longer be subject to prosecution and fines. Practically the only thing I agree with Boris. That will probably be the death Knell for BBC. Of course, they can be like PBS and ask for pledges and grants; or the Aussie AB...

Re: Difficult To Watch BBC Programmes In America

So how does the British government know if you are illegally watching OTA broadcasts? How is this enforced? Is there something in the TV that won't let you watch if you're not licensed? You can still use your TV in the UK, but the BBC has a fleet of vans that roam around the UK, detecting who's wat...

WNWO is extremely low tech. I still think 48 is the worst technical-wise. 24 is a very close second though. This is not the first time 24's had technical problems recently. It ought to be a small-market station.
WNWO in recent days had made the old WDHO look good.
