Re: NBC LX Launches in Detroit

Hearing rumors that WMNT-CD may not renew a contract with 48.2, Antenna TV. Stupid move, in my opinion. Considering that Antenna TV is now editing shows to fit more mostly-PI commercials in, as well a forcing the closing credits to share the same screen with the next show's open, it's probably a go...

Re: Old Automation Formats

When WWWW Detroit was introduced around 1970, they used automation for the music but live DJs for the patter. Here's an example:

Re: ISS Coverage disappointment

What the hell? We're talking about a historical moment, and no coverage from local news media?? They're practically saving it for the national newscasts, which no doubt will be upstaged by the riots. In that case, it won't be covered until after the first commercial, when they get into "in other ne...

Re: WSM Nashville

Listening on Saturday evening. At 11:00 PM Eastern, 10:00 PM Nashville the DJ, Jeff Hoag announced that they were signing off. A curfew had been imposed on the city because of rioting. That was it. Being a 50kw clear-channel and a PEP in the EAS system, I would have expected them to remain on the a...

Target has temporary closed many stores out of safety, though those marked "until further notice" are probably those that sustained damage. A Flint location is the only Michigan store currently on the list, but none in Ohio: https://corporate.target.com/press/releases/2020/05/an-update-on-temporary-...

On a side note, I wonder how channel 50 will be covering the riots, if they extend into Monday?

Re: Detroit Protests coverage

David Custer from WNEM in Saginaw made a facebook post where he referred to them as "riots" (saying that if you disagree with the riots, you are racist). He later changed it to say "protests." That's the coverage you can count on if you head north on 1 75. Protests are carrying signs, saying slogan...

Fox 2, by far, did the best job. We even heard an F bomb from a Fox 2 reporter, on live TV

Two words. Digital Delay. Used to be a seven second tape delay.
It was after 10PM outside the watershed, so saying f- and s-words is okay after that time.

Some called them Protest's, others call them Riot's.
If you willfully damage property and injure people, it's a riot. If you come from out of town or out of state with the intent to hurt, break and steal, it becomes terrorism.

You don't have to sit in the La-Z-Boy every night and watch black-and-white shows from Mayberry like the old farts do. :lol
I find the old shows from "the good old days" more interesting than much of the claptrap on TV today.

Notice the first thought was to blame the station and their ineptitude.
Not everyone "likes" CBS News on Facebook, so sometimes they end up being one of the last to know.

AND, not one of those stupid fuckers at 5 know how to pronounce "Tittabawassee."to one syllable word C'mon, really? It is NOT Tib-ah-dah-wasee. But they say it that way. Every. Fucking. Time. I guess they better stick s, like "Cher." During almost the first ten years of my life I lived in the Tri-C...

Re: Channel 7 mornings for the non win

The problem is [The 700 Club's] coverage of the dams breaking and flooding was more clear, better looking, and informative, in three minutes, than 7's extended coverage was. When endless numbers of people endlessly donate you can do that... If CBN offers more in-depth coverage than a heritage big t...
