Re: Conservative Victory

It’s the canary in the coal mine story. UK voters rejected the Progressive platform of the Labour party. Will American voters make the same choice? That’s the significance of that election

Matt Bevin Helps Elect Democrats in Kentucky

How does this make political sense? This is certainly a “Fuck You, Kentucky” for not voting for me. It will be interesting to see how the President handles this in December of 2020 if faced with the same situation.

The State of TC - Petoskey Radio

Let me see if I can sum up the market in 2020 - Midwestern/Biederman have the dominant country, talk and rock stations and use their ratings lead to drain as much transactional business as possible away from the competition. Black Diamond (not known for any sort of rate integrity) takes its country ...

Re: Is it still a loser debate if none of the losers show up?

This is one of those “can’t win” scenarios. Labor folks would figuratively disembowel a candidate who crossed a picket line. Those who feel negatively about unions spew the sort of rhetoric you can read in this thread. It’s true, we currently have a President who eschews the optics of much of what h...

Re: Is it still a loser debate if none of the losers show up?

I do believe most of the Den candidates are way too progressive to actually be elected but it would be political suicide for any of them to cross a picket line. While some people might actually be “union trash” overall the visual of the that would not be a positive.

106.7 is no more

Although it’s been mentioned in a few other threads, it is worth noting that the transmitter for 106.7 is off as of December 12 2019. A sad end to a formerly significant station.

Re: The Fox soon WCMU

Let’s keep in mind that existing contracts only apply to the existing owner. A buyer of a radio station can choose which existing contracts to pick up and which ones to reject. At least that’s my understanding. So a new buyer to WFDX Is not burdened by the existing tower contract. Or am I missing so...

Re: The Fox soon WCMU

I tuned into Rich's show this morning. He was doing his show like he has everyday, no hint that someday soon the station will vaporize. They are still promoting station events that will never happen. That is talent. Or delusion. Or self medication. Or the need to create some decent aircheck materia...

Re: WKLT-fm, Kalkaska and WKLZ-fm, Petoskey

Sorry, MW I beg to differ - Two thirds (roughly) of KLT's DIARY MENTIONS comes from the 97.5 signal, and nearly all Grand Traverse region DIARY MENTIONS comes from 97.5. There is no way in a diary market to tell which part of actual listening comes from simulcast signals, especially when there is no...

Re: Retiring congressman speaks for me

The Public Agenda–USA Today–Ipsos poll released Thursday found that 90 percent of respondents said that it is important for Americans to try to seek common ground with political foes. Another 83 percent said that they think divisiveness is a "big problem." https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-ro...

I apologize if you feel I was taking a "veiled shot" at you, or misinterpreted your image or meme. And by no means do I wish to defend Senator Harris or her policies or past. But please understand my point - How does "vile pig" advance anyone's agenda? Would you call her that to her face? Does it ch...
