I miss the Michiguide. and now is "Radiostaionlocator" the only option ? I can go to the FCC database but it is not really searchable easily.

Seems odd that my 2011 Ford F150 has a GREAT HD radio , but when I bought a 2021 Buick , the saleperson said HD radio was not an option !

A few years ago we camped at Lakeport Park and I took some photos of the Ontario Windmills across the lake, with my Nikon camera, Zoomed to max telephoto lens. Pretty good view.

I recall camping in the Tawas area, many hyears ago, getting a bunch of Detroit and Cleveland stations on the FM car radio !
Must be a good path along the Lk Huron shore.

I have been doing most of my Short wave listening with my Icom7300 radio lately.

I was going thru a binder full of old polar charts I made of AM patterns but did not find one for WNZK's old location !.

I recalled driving by the Beverly Rd location. don't remember how many towers, maybe three ?
Maybe before they started doing the freq hop to 680 to stay on at night >?
I also heard that stretch of road was a favorite dumping place for mob hits !

Pretty much a given , reception gets better as you raise the antenna above ground clutter and noise sources. Also your horizon distance increases to enhance those distant signals more.`

Speaking of Marine ...Years ago I viasited Hawaii and went on a boat ride, They had a VHF Marine radio and a 27 MHz AM CB radio . I asked if they used the marine radio to talk to the company dock operator (there are channels assigned for company comms) The captain was shocked ! He said only use CB f...
