Re: Conservatives awarded hypocrite accolades
My question is how do we go forward? In most of the examples given here, people from the same ethnic background as the original perpetrators fought and died to end these injustices. Our Civil War was fought over a number of issues, slavery being one of them.....600,000 nearly exclusively white, virt...

Re: Conservatives awarded hypocrite accolades
I suppose for those that feel it's a thing , they could consult the Pantone book. Not a "thing", perhaps except for those who choose to make it one in order to further some other agenda. Perhaps we need a list of questions that might be 'things' so we don't offend anyone by asking about them...

Re: Conservatives awarded hypocrite accolades
I'm lost here. What does one's colour or race have to do with their ability to serve as President? In the 21st century, why is it even an issue for discussion? Oh, golly-gee-willikers, shame on whoever noticed! How positively un-trendy and yet another example of our non-urbane south-of-the-border t...

Re: Conservatives awarded hypocrite accolades
[ Well, he IS the best black president we've ever had. Unless you count Bill Clinton. I've a question I've never heard addressed in the media or anything mainstream. Of course, it is an issue that "shall not be discussed", probably..... .....how is it that a person born of a white woman and black m...

Re: Why cant i say H***?
It was fun to think about this- it was 10 years ago that all the hubbub over The Large Person Who Shall Not Be Named raised a stink with our esteemed Buzzboard leader. Is he even still around? (H***, I mean, of course MW is still here, thank goodness.) It's a shame, but I certainly support the mode...

Re: Why is RDS so inconsistent?
RDS is interesting....it's a lower-level signal, comparatively, to the main channel.....akin to the level of the stereo pilot, and you lose that all the time on the fringes. Broadcasters do not know, or perhaps more accurately, do not choose to employ it properly. In the north, they cry about money,...

Re: The Opera Thread
Try as I might, I can't get my 'arms' around opera. My admiration to those who do. I've watched a fair amount of clips like this; I think I would be miserable and distracted in person. I'm a fan of everything from soft to classic to acid rock, bluegrass, elevator, oldies, the more 'active' classical...

Re: The "personality" of radio stations
However, I would not classify their coverage as tiny. I can pull them in the car in both Lansing and Jackson, wall to wall and treetop tall, and listen to them far more than anything in this market. I agree; I misspoke, possibly for purposes of underlining that they are not a class B or C with a fl...

Re: The "personality" of radio stations
I don't listen to over-the-air radio much, but I have noticed these days that the stations do not have much of a personality. They will play several songs back-to-back without the jock saying anything. And when they do say something, it is something very generic. How about they say something about ...

They also increased the volume on the 'easy listening' channel about a week ago....lowest volume on my bedside radio is now a little loud.SaveFerris wrote:Just noticed today that Music Choice increased the bitrate of the streams. The audio quality has greatly improved.

Re: Music Choice on Intnernet Radio?
This is way, way over my head. I'm reasonably sure I could 'get it' with enough trial and error and help from someone, but it would be akin to learning to fly a helicopter in order to take a one hour ride over the grand canyon.....probably better to hire a pro for the short trip. The server service ...
