CHANNEL 95.7!!!

Source: All Access

Townsquare Media’s “Channel 95-7” (WLHT) is looking for our next great morning show.

Can you do a fairly talk-intensive show that “turns the mirror” on 25-39 year old women? Can you connect with them using authenticity, emotion, humor, fun and even occasional tears? Do you live your life on the air? Can you handle talking about real life as easily as talking about reality TV? If you said “yes,” then I want to hear from you!

If you’re more of a “three minute break and get to the music” type, don’t waste your time or ours.

The materials you send should illustrate your ratings success and what makes you stand apart from myriad other morning shows. They should also demonstrate how you bond with a community and make a difference in the market and in the lives of your listeners.

You should be a master of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest) and comfortable creating unique, local content that will drive traffic to your station page and extend the morning show brand.

Previous morning show experience is required, but length of time in the business and current market size doesn’t matter. Your style, sound and ability to connect with the audience are much more important than where you’ve been or how long you’ve been at it.

Current morning teams are strongly encouraged to apply.

Grand Rapids is a fantastic city with a great quality of life. We were recently rated as the #1 city for raising a family by Forbes Magazine. Grand Rapids has an active downtown and nightlife, vibrant arts scene, a growing medical and research community, a major concert venue (right across the street from the station), and we’re less than 40 minutes from the beautiful shore of Lake Michigan.

Interested? Send audio, video, pictures or narratives that will convince us of your abilities to:
nextgreatmorningshow@hotmail.com

You may also snail mail to:
Channel 95-7 Mornings
Attn: Tom Cook
50 Monroe Avenue NW, Suite 500
Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Closing date for this job is August 1st. Townsquare Media is an EOE.

That line was about enough to make me heave!

"Next great morning show?"

Still, it's nice to see the station is finally moving forward in dumping Kidd Krapdick's lame ass.

This makes me wonder??? What are some of the am shows paid??? I imagine b93's show is still in the high dollar range but what about some of the others?? $28,000 is pretty bad.

Anything is better than Kraddick. The chick with the southern twang drives me nuts. Nothing says "Grand Rapids" like a few good 'hey y'alls'.

I have a feeling the new morning show will sound similar to Dave & Jerri, Denis & Nanette or Barnaby & Friends. Setup, punch, giggle. Even though the giggle is on cue.

Certainly appears the ad was written by an egomaniac who has a delusional view of 95.7's importance in the marketplace.

However almost anything would be better than the syndicated garbage they are currently airing.

I ran into Barnaby last fall. Here's his latest venture.

All at the expense of Kim Carson. That's where part of the money is coming from.
