Mecklenberger Chief at 17?

I heard that Rick Mecklenberger was named Chief meteorologist at fox? This is surprising since he is new and shaner and Craig have been there quite a while...seems like this would be kinda awkward...?

Awkward, as a descriptor works for Fox 17. Jason Volentine told us last night that George Lindsey died and went on to describe the TV persona of the other Pyle, "Gomer". I don't think you could have got through too much wire copy on Lindsey before seeing the phrase "Goober."

Gomer was the one who'd say "Shazam". Goob would turn around when leaving the Sheriff's Office, point a finger and say, "OK, See ya Andy," and make the noise "Keek". Westaby can verify your generational references hereafter so they're right.

Maybe Fox 17 can get Charlie's Bar and Grill up on Plainfield to develop a "Mecklenburger".

Mecklenburg was chief at WSBT for a number of years. Shaner worked at WSBT doing weekends before he was hired at WXMI. My guess is that had something to do with it...

BTW, good to see Michelle DeSelms decided to scale back on the black makeup over the eyes. She looks much better without it all caked on like it used to be.
