Is it just me or do they seem to play "yellow ledbetter" by Pearl Jam around noon everyday? I work nights so I don't get up untill late afternoon and between 12-2, this song is always on when my alarm clock goes off. Playlist seems a bit tight.

A Cumulus station with a tight playlist? You're pulling my leg. Next thing you'll tell me is McClintock has no personality...

Actually I've always found their playlist more confusing than tight. They're supposedly a modern rock station, but if you factor in stuff they play like The Cure and U2 and sometimes even The Ramones, their playlist might have a bigger time span than XKR's. And most of the time it'll bounce wildly around from Pearl Jam to the Black Keys to Fiona Apple to POD. Sometimes too old, sometimes too girly, sometimes too hipster. But sometimes good, too...and less predictable than IOT at least.

Interesting comparison between 100.7 The Zone and the recently modernized 104.7 WIOT playlists. Seems 100.7 won't touch modern rock bands like 5 Finger Death Punch or 12 Stones, which can be heard on WIOT. Speaking of 100.7, anybody listening to their online stream during the day notice bleedover from AM 1560? Can really hear it during Freebeer and Hotwings. Wonder if CSN is still using Cumulus' Arlington Ave facilities for WWYC. Noticed the bleedover a few weeks ago while a dj was talking. Not heard on their FM frequency, don't know about WXKR-HD2.

The 1560 transmitter is still fired-up on Arlington spewing crud into everything onsite. They kept the one of the two towers that they damaged the least, but they have since more than doubled the power on it from their 500W STA low power (vs WTOD's original 5KW days down to 500w to cut the bleeding).
They don't run their authorized 3 watts at night though.
They've also scammed the FCC into moving their FM 'translator' from Perrysburg to Arlington AVE, defeating the purpose of translators, but it seems the religious satcasters can do whatever they want with RF FCC rules unlike the rest of broadcasters.

Back to the Zone; 1560 is bleeding over at Arlington into every headset and computer, but the Zone's feed from WXKR-HD2 seems unaffected thusfar. I still think they should use the WXKR-HD3 for NOAA WX radio.

Thanks for the info, WOHO. I wondered if WWYC ever found another tower site and facilities. Sounds like they'll be married to Cumulus Toledo for a long time. Hope Cumulus is getting a lot of compensation from CSN for this. No wonder I got no response from the Zone staff when I asked about the bleedover. It's old news to them. That would be quite frustrating as a dj, hearing another station through your headphones underneath the one you're actually broadcasting from. At least the online stream is free from any CSN interference at night when 1560 signs off.

WIOT, of course, uses one of CC's centrally-programmed "Premium Choice" playlist. That being said, it isn't half bad. I'm sure the choice was either use the PC "mainstream rock" playlist or "next gen classic rock" playlist.

I'm glad they chose the former.

If you look at the music logs during the overnight hours, WEBN in Cincinnati and WIOT in Toledo play the exact same songs at nearly the exact same time. (During locally programmed hours, WEBN these days has a strong Active Rock lean. They are down to 2 songs an hour from pre-1990 categories.)
