It has been exactly one year to the day since I predicted WCKY-FM would stay country, and... it still is. I guess that makes me the expert on radio formats... I don't expect much change for the next year either. I think Clear Channel is making REVENUE from WCKY, even if the ratings for the Toledo market are less than stellar. I really don't expect WCWA to change much either, for the same reason.
:hat

Cumulus, on the other hand, is seeing sinking revenues on many of their stations, so I would expect some shakeups at Arlington soon.

CKY even has a nice cute little studio shoehorned in at Superior Street HQ, so you can run a live show from there as well as new dinky studios for both WCWA and WIOT too.
Fort Industry Square broadcast center is done :(

With Star 105's Hot AC format now toast, WIOT youthening its average song age by at least 10 years, and WKXA in Findlay flipping to Country near the start of the year, Clear Channel should very seriously consider doing Variety Hits on the 103.7 stick.

A Jack FM-style format would complement WRVF and WIOT's demos and would eat into the numbers of WRQN and WXKR.
Thank you I agree 100% 103.7 Carty FM sound's awesome and wellll over due! Toledo does not need 3 country station's! The thing that get's me is 103.7 still calls them self's Toledo's country station!

CKY makes money so I am told, I agree 3 country stations too damn many. NW has way too much of that. seriously. Someone should go Varity hits IMO.
