Sorry, guys, this is for girls only (that's entertainment). We are searching for a salesperson - that can join our morning show, as well. We need a female.

WIDL in Caro is going to be tripling it's power and growing it's sales area. We need someone that is a salesperson first, who can also speak intelligently on the radio.

For more information, interested individuals can contact Bob Hughes via email at bob@mix921.com.

Absolutely! That's what is so great about the entertainment industry. We can hire and fire who we want, for almost whatever reason we want! Just ask Hooters! That's what contracts are for. :D

Seriously Bob, EOE is a pretty big deal. I wouldn't be putting this kind of message--no matter how sarcastic as it may seem--on a public forum that could be used in court.

And believe it or not...there are guys who work at Hooters..some even in the back!

Thanks for the pointers. I appreciate your thoughts, and I take EOE quite seriously.

Nevertheless, when it comes to "casting", which is what we're doing, you can hire who you want to hire to fit what your business needs, which is exactly what we're doing. Our morning show requires a female presence to fit our demographic, which is primarily females 25-55.

Now, if anyone knows a female interested in working in broadcasting who has sales experience, please feel free to contact me.

Michguide says the following about the power increase:

2/2012: Construction permit granted to change COL from Caro to Cass City, change ERP from 6,000 watts @ 318 feet (Class A) to 25,000 watts @ 253 feet (Class C3) from a new tower location.

That said, how much will the coverage area change?

Thanks for asking. Unfortunately, I'm not an engineer, so I'm unable to be specific and we probably truly won't know until we do testing after the tower is up next week (god willing). From conversations with the engineers, the best estimate I can give you is from www.radio-locator.com. Here is a link to the predicted coverage area:

I hope this helps. For more info, please email me at bob@mix921.com. Thanks!

Glad to hear that your power boost will finally be happening soon. Signal right now is marginal in Tawas City, looks like it should improve up this way substantially.

Thanx. We're certainly looking forward to it. People in Huron and Sanliac counties that want Thumb area information, sports and Hot AC programming will now have another source.

I agree that this will be a good thing for residents of Huron and Sanillac Counties, given the very limited selection of local stations on the dial. A wide section of those two counties get fringe reception at best from Tri-Cities and Pt. Huron area stations. I'm sure any new options will be welcomed by residents of those areas.

Tuscola County will see a degradation in reception, but many stations from the Tri-Cities and Flint boom into that region. This move will give you guys a less crowded sandbox to play in while expanding your coverage footprint overall.

Thanks for the link. Looks like Huron and Sanilac counties will benefit most from the boost. I am betting the signal will still be adequate for most of Tuscola county even within the distant contour lines on the map which included Mayville, Fostoria, Millington, and Vassar. Web streaming would be a plus... :lol

I opened up the old and new coverage maps in MSPaint, re-drew 3 circles from the old map over top of the new one, then shaded the changes.

I filled in with dark colors the contour gains and light colors (plus grey) the contour losses. The black arc represents the cutoff point between the stronger and weaker signal - everywhere southwest of the arc will see a weaker signal, northeast of it will see a stronger signal.

Bob, all I was saying was to not POST that you are looking for a female. You can always say "Females are STRONGLY encouraged to apply" and know in the walls of the station you are only looking for a female. Saying it on a public message board could get messy to anyone who applies and doesn't get the job if they are male.

All I was sayin'...

@craigrussell - Seriously, thanx, again. I appreciate what you've written. I'd just rather not get into a Title VII discussion and BFOQ on this board. :)

@bmw - Very cool. That's a great graphic, may I use it. I think you've really hit it on the head where we're going to focus our sales efforts. I hope we don't lose too much signal to the southwest, not sure how the terrain is going to affect it. It's pretty flat adjacently West of Caro. We'll know more after testing. I think the engineers have some kind of map I saw that is more accurate, but I guess that's Top Secret. lol

@theforce - Web streaming is certainly in our future. I'm working with the engineer in the next two weeks to identifying a source for the processed signal. We don't output an icecast2 signal from our software, so it's going to have to be dumb stream.

@MWmetalhead - well put. :) It's gonna be a fun sandbox! Can't wait.
