Pete Waldmeir, R.I.P.
Re: Pete Waldmeir, R.I.P.
I remember reading Pete's columns for many years, as my Dad only subscribed to the News. Only got to see the Freep at a family member's house. Pete was great. Sorry to see that he has died, but I thought he was even older than 92.

Damn, he seemed like he was 92 twenty-five years ago.
Generally enjoyed his work.

I always enjoyed his work RIP Pete
Re: Pete Waldmeir, R.I.P.
What impressed me was that he ran for grosse pointe city council in 2004 after retiring from the paper and served a term.
He got in the game after writing and critiquing the elites.
Everyone should volunteer or try to serve and make things better in some way, instead of constantly complaining. His work with good fellows was a shining tribute the good spirit of Pete sr.
Tragic he had to suffer thru the loss of his son pete Jr.
