There were some interesting radar returns on the east side of the Windsor metro a little while ago. Would not surprise me if a brief tornado touchdown occurred there (near the community of Lakeshore).

I just had a Zoom.meeting with my doctor, who lives in Harrison Twp., and she said the storms there were wild and they even lost power for a minute.

I want summer back.

Don't start with me, TCT. We get snow long before Dec. 21/22.

The new meteorologist on 7 last evening underestimated this afternoon and evening's large hail and tornado threats, in my opinion.

She had the tornado risk barely above zero. With SSE winds near the surface, decent instability, and mid level winds taking on more of a westerly orientation as the cold front approaches, I think there is a tangible tornado threat, especially in areas that are prone to lake breezes.

I also think some areas could see hail 1" or larger, although I don't think that will be quite as widespread as the event from two Thursdays ago.

The NWS language from last night matched that barely above zero prediction. Today they reversed course and made it sound like Palm Sunday 1965 was gonna happen again. In the end we got… not a lot. I’m underwhelmed with the lack of good storms around here.

I looked at the language the SPC used for the watch issuance and preceding mesoscale discussion. They were definitely talking up the hail threat and stated "a couple tornadoes" were possible.

There was some wind damage in Metro Detroit, but it was very spotty.

Channel 7 turned out to be right; kudos to them for a job well done. No tornadoes here and little to zero hail.

Funny thing…. Better than 50% of the time they say “a couple tornadoes possible”… it would be interesting to know the reasons for the larger than average number of major tornado events around here from 1950-1980. We don’t seem to get that kind of storm much now.

All that rain we didn't get for 3 weeks is apparently coming down Sunday and Monday.

Where is the rain that was predicted today? I didn’t see any in Novi. NOAA was predicting up to 0.75in of rain. 4 Warn as late as 6:59pm was still predicting rain and thunderstorms.
