For $24.98 this could be property of Motor City Radio Flashbacks (or anyone else): https://www.ebay.com/itm/394849909730

I got curious about the "Mr. K's Loung" writing on the back.

I googled "Mr. K's Lounge" and this came up. Looks like the kind of place where Ron would do a remote show.

The last show of the AA Revolving Door Show is scheduled for tomorrow:

https://mibuzzboard.com/phpBB3/viewtopi ... 50#p782599

Those guys performed a great service for the Ron Cameron community with their involvement in two tribute shows after Ron's death.

All of us Cameronistas should tune them in tomorrow at 4 p.m. and gather in their thread for a chat reunion.

Count me in for the the AA Revolving Door Show finale. Regarding the locale of the Ron Cameron/Monte Clark photograph: "Mr. K's (sic) Lounge" probably refers to Mr. Kay's Lounge on East Eight Mile. Ron's broadcasts from that location are mentioned in Joe LaPointe's July 30, 1982 column in the Detroit Free Press. (The column is also footnote #21 in Wikipedia's Ron Cameron entry.) https://www.newspapers.com/article/detr ... /87486358/

That makes sense, especially when you compare the dates. The photographer's notes were probably rough shorthand.

On Friday night on 97.1, two extremely emotional extroverts talked with each other: Mr. Positive and Marc Ryan

Mr. Positive lavished praise on Marc for his upbeat style, leading to Marc asking Mr. P. to be his agent. After the call, Marc repeated Mr. P.'s mantra about "going for your dreams."

What's next? Will Mr. P. come up with an "R Sizzle" style nickname for Marc, who has already been given several other descriptions for his short time in Detroit (https://mibuzzboard.com/phpBB3/viewtopi ... =3&t=63998)?

Seven innings of a two-hit, eight strikeouts, shutout by 41-year old Justin Verlander against a Jake Rogers-less Tigers. Yes, one of these years that 2017 deadline trade will make the now short-order cook, Al Avila, & his fanboy Ron, look good.

It's funny that you said that, because on Ryan's Sunday show Mr. Positive phoned in and TWICE referred to Marc as "R Sizzle"...I dont know how I feel about that. For a fleeting moment I thought he was talking to Ron....

Thanks for mentioning that. I wonder how far Mr. Positive will go with his comments on Marc's show. Will he start asking Marc personal questions? Mr. P. is known by other 97.1 hosts, who might clue Marc in on Mr. P.'s style.

Jake has been hitting well lately.

But Scott Harris' large group of analytics experts probably spent several hours on Saturday digging through all of their numbers to discover that Jake Rogers is hitless in four plate appearances against Verlander.

One year ago today, Ron made his triumphant return to WPON, after wandering in the wilderness for about two weeks (https://mibuzzboard.com/phpBB3/viewtopi ... 30#p739802). This latest gig at this classic oldies station proved for the last time that Ron could survive any kind of job termination.

He was re-united on the air with Martin Anthony, who had faithfully maintained Ron's Twitter (now X!) page. Ron also resumed his quality control consultant role with station owner Sima.

On this last leg of Ron's 54-year journey through the radio air waves, he continued to interview people who had been forgotten by other Detroit sports stations (https://mibuzzboard.com/phpBB3/viewtopi ... 20#p769710).

On February 20, 2024, Ron fulfilled his pledge to never retire.

I got a good laugh this morning when I opened my email and found this response to a long forgotten email that I had sent to the Detroit Catholic High School League way back in the fall of 2023 asking when the ball/strike change was implemented:

From the CHSL...........

"The spring of 1967 was the first year the Catholic High School League went 3 balls and 2 strikes."

Unfortunately, they made no mention of Ron's deciding vote which forced the change.
