Marc Santia left last month. Now WDIV's Jim Kiertzner is the latest to jump ship, headed to WXYZ's Broadcast House.

You must not be watching then. Jim led off the 6PM newscast Wednesday 8/8 with the lead story on the incompetent contracted security guards at the federal building who kept a bomb under a desk for a month after it was confiscated :eek :roll:

No he's had a story several times for most of the summer in the morning shows.

Is this even true? Where is Shine getting this? I haven't seen or heard this anywhere and he was on a breaker tonight at 6pm on 4. Stations don't keep a guy on the air who is supposed to go to their main competition.
I don't think you could say that Santia 'jumped ship.' He moved up to WNBC New York.

WDIV's website still has Santia's profile... do you have a source that stated he's moved on up to the Big Apple?

As for Jim Kirtzener moving to Broadcast House... not surprised... with Carolyn Clifford and and Mary Conway leaving... they probably need some easily-recognized names.

So this is where he went. I used to seem him on WNEM.

It seems that several of the tri-city area newscasters are now in the Detroit area.

They are 'moving up', while staying in the area.

Yes Jim Kiertzner is coming to Broadcast House. I heard a rumor he has to spend some time inside before he can go on the air as a reporter due to the noncompete clause. Will probably get to spend a week at the Scrips West Palm station learning the MMJ routine. We'll see on Monday what's up when he starts work.

It is odd that DIV made/let him work until his last day, but then he is a long time pro and wouldn't do anything stupid on air. I would have taken a week or so off between gigs.
