Windsor is said to be part of the Detroit market only in relation to prog. rights.Thats why many of the shows CBC has in other markets can't be shown here. And also why CHWI is low power with a null not to go into Detroit.

Lapeer has been part of the Detroit market for as long as I can remember, although that's not to say Lapeer has always been part of the Detroit market.

I believe Sanilac may have been reassigned from Flint/Saginaw to Detroit within the past several years. Detroit TV stations began dispensing severe weather information for Sanillac County for the first time not that long ago.

Sanilac County has been part of the Detroit TV market since at least 2000, as far as DirecTV and Dish Network are concerned (Sanilac County subscribers receive Detroit locals instead of Saginaw/Flint). That makes sense if you live in southern Sanilac County towards the St. Clair County border, but not so much if you live in western Sanilac County.

This may be an interesting add... there were several weather warnings for Lapeer County the year I was there (May 2007-April 2008)... Lapeer County was included in the crawls on channels 4 and 7, yet left off 2 IIRC. In fact the map display of the area counties showed the same... Lapeer shown on 4 and 7 but not on 2. Keep in mind that as far as cable went some of the network shows (why not all bugs me) that were on the Detroit networks were blocked and shown on the Flint networks.

Is it just me, or does Tim Martz, the owners of HD2 and Hd3, hate Canada? On The Bone's website, the site not only promises Cancon-free music, but delivers another pot shot to 89X by saying that a phone company owns that station, by displaying the 1902 logo for Bell Canada (when it was still a subsidiary of AT&T). And of course, everyone knows his plan to move The Oasis from 104.7 to 93.9, blocking CIDR to Americans.

Martz also owns two stations in upstate New York that rimshot Montreal to the north -- Top 40 WYUL and country WICY -- both taking aim at the anglophone audience in that city.

Furthermore, I just saw this article tonight -- not only is Tim Martz being mean to Canadians in Detroit, he was born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario which, last time I checked, was in Canada:

Just an observation, but after listening to The Bone for while now, I have to admit their playlist is different than any station in Detroit. I just wish they had a big signal, no pun intended. As a translator they get out pretty well due to their tower height. The online stream sounds good also. Their playlist sounds better than 89X in my opinion. :D

The Bone is downright terrible. The music is sped up, and most of the songs suck.

The Bone sounds like a small market radio station using outdated equipment & staffed by a bunch of underachievers. I can sum up the station in one word: amateurish.

The two positive things I'll say about the station -- i) they avoid the emo / teen punk garbage 89X plays; ii) they don't play Eminem.

89X in its own rite is an incredibly mediocre alternative station. It's a shame 106.7 didn't flip to a format that would've competed with 89X.

I think 92.7 will repeat The Bone.

I see WHMI did object to the move to 93.5, so they are now trying to move BACK to 104.7! This time, the tower will be in Roseville and heavily directional away from WIOT. Let's see how this one works out.

If you were worried about losing WIOT due to this new application, feel free to contact WIOT's engineer about it. He may do something similar to WHMI in filing objection now.
