Has nothing to do with "ignorance." Has EVERYTHING to do with doing what is politically expedient. This will allow him to raise even more funds from his left-wing base and will energize them to get out to the polls this November.

I remember the closing days of the 2004 election, when Bush and company came out supporting an Amendment to the consitution banning gay marriage. Funny enough, one of the ones who organized the campign is.... *wait for it* gay!

He may have lost a few folks, but the upside is far, far greater. Moreover, polling is showing the electorate is nowhere nearly as adverse to gay marriage as it once was.

Most church-attending black folk aren't going to vote for Romney come hell or high water.
