Wentz shouldn’t be on the team. He’s absolute garbage when games actually matter. Who cares if someone claims him on waivers.

Tigers get a wild card spot I think 85 or 86 wins this season. All 50 states should have sports gambling they are being left behind.

Typical McCosky puff piece:

If they fail to win 80 games, he'll hand out mostly B and just a few C+ grades to the players and coaching staff in his end of year report card, like usual.

Can't get a much better start to the season! Pitching looked indomitable. Greene made a few great plays in left.

1-0 for 1-0.

Honestly, some of these professional and college games looked fixed. If I had it to do over again, I would vote against sports gambling.

Nice baserunning by Baez to get the only run of the game.

I guess it's Greene's instinct to leap for catchable balls, even though we're going to cringe every time he does it. Hope he makes it past 100 games this year. I'm really looking forward to Parker Meadows covering at least 40 percent of the outfield this year.

The Toledo Mud Hens opened with a win yesterday. The starting lineup:

Wenceel Perez, RF
Justyn-Henry Malloy, LF
Jace Jung, 3B
Keston Hiura, 1B
Justice Bigbie, DH
Akil Baddoo, CF
Eddys Leonard, 2B
Dillon Dingler, C
Ryan Kreidler, SS

Matt Manning started and got the win.
Beau Brieske got the save.

Should be a fun team to follow—a lot of those guys will probably be in Detroit this year..

Hopefully the Tigers won't blow a guaranteed $24,000,000 for two years. I know he's a control junk pitcher, but his fastball was essentially batting practice.

Then there's Lange, who's starting to look like he's just lost it. A bad first appearance in 2024, after a bad second half in 2023.

But the worst news of the day was the debut of the new home run celebration in the dugout—a stacked pile of pizzas on a stick. And people get paid to think up this idiocy? The Little Caesar's brand name is already all over the place.

Anyway, they won, with lots of contributions from people who aren't going to be in the All-Star Game (Canha, Kelly, McKinstry, Miller).
