I'll be damned! A Brew-branded station with a hard hitting Active Rock fromat!

The above station launched earlier today and previously carried Clear Channel's Gen-X format.

All of CC's other stations with the "Brew" nameplate have always played a mix of 80's butt rock & pop rock.

Detroit could use something like this.

Makes sense to me. At least they didn't listen to some consultant who says "if you call your station brew you must play classic rock"

I remember one time I was at an AC station that used the "Mix" moniker, and we wanted to update. I suggested we use "Z" in front of the dial position since our call letters contained a "Z". I was told that would be too confusing to the listeners, they would think we're CHR! Huh??

Now why couldn't CC do this in Detroit? Just what we need.. another station that plays butt rock.
