The girls fiancée is heading off to the Peoples Republic of California tomorrow to report for his minor league baseball team. He's going to be gone for five months so we had a "last supper" of sorts with the fam.
When the kids, with their significant others, descend on my abode expecting to be fed, I look for value based food items.
Tonight's offering included chicken leg quarters along with fresh asparagus from my patch and some Florida bi-colored sweet corn.

Even though you couldn't attend, you would have still felt obligated to send a gift. I just couldn't bring myself to put you in that position.
I'll be having a clothing optional cookout this summer after restrictions are lifted. I'll make sure to send you and your wife an invite.

What wine goes best with a lamb burger (w/slab o' feta, bibb lettuce, pickled red o-yo, curry mayo, toasted ciabatta) on fine lake china... ?
