I remember a 10 minute show that came on late at night, possibly only on sunday nights but I could be wrong on that, where a guy came walking out on a graphic of a ring of Saturn and told you about the upcoming week in star gazing. It may have been on Ch9 or Ch56 (Detroit) but memory is fuzzy. He would talk about what was going on in the solar system and what nights were the best for looking at the stars, which direction in the night sky to look, what you'd be looking for, etc...

Does anyone remember this?

Thanks.

"Jack Horkheimer: Star Hustler"

Produced by Public TV's WPBT Miami

Fun fact, the announcer for the program was the legendary Rock and Roll dj Big Wilson.

He was on Public TV. His show was a five minute segment show his time varried. Usually he was at night, (as far as I can remember.)

Either WGBU in Bowling Green or WGTE in Toledo would play it just before sign-off.

I recall an episode of the Disney Channel's version of "Mickey Mouse Club" once spoofed this program, I don't remember what goes on, but at the end when the Jack Horkheimer character walks away he falls off the beam.

Here's an older episode

The show is still running today, but is now co-hosted by Dean Regas and James Albury. And last year, the show was retitled simply as "Star Gazers":

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Gazers

The show was retitled the first time in 1997 from "Jack Horkheimer: Star Hustler" to "Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer", due to the popularity of the internet, in which search engines would give results for "Hustler" magazine instead of the TV show.

Didn't Horkheimer himself tape a special promo for Cartoon Network, spoofing his series?

I guess I didn't know since I thought it was always Star Hustler.

Might have, though I can't recall what that promo was.
