Didn't Guiding Light try this and it failed miserably?

I think they tried to get "Guiding Light" online, but couldn't ink a deal with a distributor. Ironically, one of their prime actors jumped to "One Life to Live", which was subsequently canceled.

As for "All My Children" and "One Life to Live", the actors, writers and production crew are probably taking quite a cut in pay for this new venture, but it beats not working at all I suppose. I also notice that they can now take more liberties with language than they could on network TV.
