I brought this up on another thread but I thought there were some good books on TV out there that have been some of my favorites worth recommending. Its not exactly Oprah's book club but if you're interested in broadcasting they're good reads. If you have anymore I missed please post 'em.

A Newscast for the Masses, A History of Detroit TV News.
2009 by Tim Kiska
Good research on how TV news grew in Detroit since 1947. Great inside stuff.

TV Land - Detroit
by Gordon Castelnero
Well detailed info on the most popular Detroit shows like Kelly & Co, Lou Gordon, Soupy, Milky, Sir Graves, Sagebrush, Neff, Perot and others.

Detroit Kid Shows
by Ed Golick
Its a great compilation of all the kid's shows and stars from Detroit TV
has a website too.

Anchors, Brokaw, Rather, Jennings and the Evening News
by Robert Goldberg in 1989 A detailed behind the scenes look at how each anchor covered the news events over one year. Some good history on network news too.

The Newscasters
by Ron Powers from 1977. A wordy but good read about consultants and how modern TV news started.

Nightline
by Ted Koppal and Kyle Gibson
Stories about all the major events covered and about the show.

This Just In
by Bob Schieffer 2003
Great inside info about his carrer before and during CBS.

Bad News
by Tom Fenton
A look at how a TV news might have underserved the public.

Tell Me a Story
Don Hewitt's autobio has some interesting stuff.

Walter Cronkite's Autobio
Just for fun reading about his life and TV news when it was good.

David Brinkley
his autobio, a little dry like his delivery but ok.

Katherine Grahm's Autobio
some interesting stuff about the stress of buying WWJ-TV (WDIV)

At least Detroit has a few good books on TV (more than could be said down here, but I wouldn't mind trying to write such a book if ever).

From Soupy to Nuts!
