The auto makers had to have known about this.

Re: 0.10 miles from cellular antennas and interference

WADL TV is 39 miles away from that location, and it is difficult to receive. WDIV is the one that tends to be the first one to come in, due to a taller broadcast tower. The two bridges between the U.S/Canada border are southwest of that location, so that might not help.

0.10 miles from cellular antennas and interference

I was trying to get stable TV reception from the inside of an apartment building that is only 0.10 from another building that has those cell phone antennas on the roof. They came in off and on. I was using an inexpensive amplified antenna. I am wondering if a passive antenna + an LTE filter would wo...

Re: CKWW 580 Signal Observations

The nighttime interference on 580 is making their signal useless where I live tonight. I don't recall that being much of a problem in the past.

Re: 50kw Daytime Non-Directional

The clay soil in the township just to the south of Sarnia has high ground conductivity. 700 WLW from Cincinnati comes in during the daytime on a sensitive radio. Based on a map I saw it appears that 590 VOCM on the East Coast can be picked in SW Greenland if you are close enough to the salt water.

CFPL-FM in London had Progressive Rock starting at Midnight as early as 1972. That was the same year that 1570 CHLO had a similar format to what WRIF had at the time. https://broadcasting-history.ca/radio/radio-stations/ontario/ontario-south-western/cfpl-fm/ https://broadcasting-history.ca/radio/rad...

Re: Nielsen November 2023 radio ratings

It is indeed a big waste to try to cover an area as large as a whole Metro with translators, but they are going to do it anyway.

I could see WCSX-HD-2 + the FM relays switching to Oldies if CKWW becomes something else next year.

The old I.F. image situation. WHLS Port Huron did it to CBEF when it was on 540 where in my area (no loss for me because it was French). In Guelph, Ontario their local signal on 1460 AM must do the same thing to WGR from Buffalo. I found that portable Sony radios could ignore it because they also us...

I heard a Florida radio station on AM for the first time in my location. It was 600 WBOB from Jacksonville. Right now, the Chicago station on 890 is missing and I'm hearing Spanish instead. At night solar flares tend to do this to the ionosphere every so often. https://www.space.com/enormous-sunspot...

One of the radio stations might play music during the daytime and have multilingual programming in the evenings. This is what CFMS in Markham does.

The possible sale has just been mentioned in the Hamilton Newspaper. If approved, Neeti P. Re: recommendation wanted - BASIC cheap FM radio antenna for stereo receiver

There is no threaded twist on connector for 75 ohm on the receiver. GND is the ground for coaxial cable and to other post is for the copper center of the cable. A 1:1 transformer can be used. I know they exist because a terk antenna I bought at a stores surplus dept. included one. The machine wire w...
